Woodshop/CNC Router Operator


Company / Location: Hankscraft AJS, Random Lake, WI

Department: Woodshop

Reports To: Plant Manager


Company Description:

AJS has been in business for over 30 years creating dynamic displays and POP (Point of Purchase) products for businesses, including tap handles and other promotional products for the brewing industry, and supplies components to the display industry. We design, manufacture, and take great pride in the quality of our products and the level of service we provide to our customers


Overview:

This person will be responsible to use traditional woodworking techniques to produce custom wood tap handles and other related promotional products to the customers specifications. Accuracy and attention to detail is needed each step of the way to deliver quality to our customers.


Responsibilities:

  • Produce custom wood products in accordance with quality and production standards.

  • Review job tickets and perform duties in order of operations. Able to read and understand engineered drawings.

  • Use tape measure and calipers to verify finished product to drawing specifications.

  • Setup and run CNC router, ability to make minor programing changes a plus.

  • Train on all woodshop equipment with minimal supervision including chop saw, lathes, sanders, table saws, wood planer, drill press, and lagging machine.

  • Perform job specific equipment setups, as necessary.

  • Accurate recording of completed pieces in labor recording computer program.

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.

  • A conscientious work attitude and pride in the work environment is strongly encouraged.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • Prior woodshop or woodworking experience a plus.

  • Strong math skills.

  • High school diploma or equivalency

  • Must pass a drug screen.

  • Able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to reach at waist level and below, push/pull/twist, and bend and squat occasionally.

  • Must be able to stand/sit 8 hours intermittently.
